The historic area of Sunniside is now undergoing a renaissance and is being transformed into a place where you can live, work and spend your leisure time.

Cafes and shops have sprung up and businesses are finding the imposing setting of this part of the city as the perfect location from which to do work.

This transformation is down to organisations such as urban regeneration company Sunderland Arc working closely with Sunderland City Council and of course Sunderland City Centre Management.
Wherever you look in Sunderland you can be sure you will see the signs of a brighter and vibrant future.

Sunderland is entering a new and exciting era of change and growth. An Urban Design Strategy for the Central Area of Sunderland has been formulated and is an important step in reshaping the city’s heart. The Strategy establishes a clear vision for the type of place Sunderland wants to be, drawing together different development proposals and design guidance.
