'Little Shoppers' Child Safety Scheme

Bernie Bear and his team of Little Shoppers have launched a new child safety scheme in the Bridges Shopping Centre.

Little Shoppers Stay Safe is an initiative designed by Land Securities who own the shopping centre, it is aimed at reducing the distress and risk caused when a child becomes seperated from their parent/guardian.

On entering the shopping centre children will be issued with a wrist band on which their parent or guardian will write their contact details.  If the child becomes seperated from their parent or guardian they will be told to find a shop window which has the Bernie Bear - the schemes vibrantly coloured mascot - displayed.

 The Parents can then phone the customer service team using the information on teh Little Shopper information card, that they will receive along with the wristband.  Staff at The Bridges can then send security guards to look around the shops for the child and reunite them with their parents, with minimum upset caused.
