Shopwatch

Crime doesn’t pay in Sunderland – and that’s because we go all out to ensure that our shoppers and retailers are protected.

We want business owners to become part of the Shopwatch scheme, a national initiative which unites retailers, the Police, Council and City Centre Management in a bid to slash the billions of pounds lost to retail-related crime which takes place in the UK every year.

A new Shopwatch scheme is to be relaunched in the City Centre in the Spring with a high profile launch. If you’re not already part of scheme why not take a look at the benefits - the payback is that those involved in ShopWatch have reported massive reductions in crime.

Sunderland City Centre has been proclaimed a ‘safe and secure’ place after the Sunderland Shopwatch Partnership was awarded the prestigious national Safer Shopping Award. The Home Office backed award is the first to be given to a major retail centre in the North East and only the 28th to have been handed out nationally.
